Nyros – Canvas Print

Description

Nyros canvas print

Nyros canvas print by Miami-based contemporary artist Henrix is a character portrait from the imaginative Phantasia series, created in 2026.

The artwork introduces Nyros, one of the newest members of the Mutants, a collective of original characters that inhabit the surreal and mystical world created by Henrix.

The Phantasia series marks the beginning of an expanding universe centered around these characters. The idea emerged after the strong response to Henrix’s earlier character painting that eventually evolved into Cyrix.

That piece gained significant attention during Art Basel Miami Beach week, encouraging the artist to build an entire fictional world around these expressive personalities.

Within that world, Nyros stands out as one of the most intriguing figures. While Cyrix represents the original Cyclops-inspired character, Nyros takes that concept in a different direction, appearing as a Cyclops dog-like creature wrapped in a mysterious cloak.

Nyros canvas print and the world of Phantasia

The Nyros canvas print expands the mythology of Phantasia, a mystical land imagined by Henrix where each character embodies a different personality, archetype, or symbolic presence.

The characters in this universe are collectively known as The Mutants. They are playful, eccentric, and visually expressive figures that exist somewhere between fantasy, humor, and surreal storytelling.

Nyros appears as a mysterious traveler or guardian within this fictional world. His cloak suggests movement, secrecy, and wisdom, while the single eye references the Cyclops motif shared with the character Cyrix.

However, Nyros carries his own identity. The canine features subtly integrated into the design suggest loyalty, instinct, and protective energy. Within the Mutants universe, Nyros feels like a character that observes quietly before acting.

Character design and symbolism

The design of the Nyros canvas print combines playful surrealism with subtle storytelling. The single eye centered in the forehead immediately draws the viewer’s attention. In mythology and storytelling, the Cyclops is often associated with perception, power, and heightened awareness.

By placing the eye prominently on Nyros’s mask-like face, Henrix transforms the character into something both mystical and slightly humorous. The exaggerated facial proportions and stylized shapes give the character personality and charm.

The earth-toned cloak introduces warmth and visual balance to the piece. Its soft folds contrast with the bold structure of the character’s face, adding a sense of movement and presence.

The gradient background further reinforces the idea of Nyros emerging from another world, almost as if the viewer has caught a glimpse of him traveling through the landscape of Phantasia.
